Our premier signature collection, Old Ningxia, takes its name from the western province that was home to the weaving centres of the Imperial Court of Beijing, the Forbidden City, and features designs from China's "classical period" which spanned parts of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

These were the carpets woven for emperors, and the wealthy officials and dignitaries who served them. Old Ningxia strives to re-create the most beautiful and decorative of these classical masterpieces.

Oasis focuses on designs from China's other major weaving centre, Xinjiang, formerly known as East Turkestan. The designs are some of the most paradoxical to be found anywhere.

They are, at once, naive yet sophisticated, bold yet subtle. A major element of this desert tradition is the extensive use of a technique known as "outlining" - creating endless color combinations within a repetitive and highly structured framework.
Peking ventures from the realm of the purely classical and features archetypes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when western influences became more prevalent throughout China.

Jing Hua is our contribution to the modern carpet. Jing Hua means essence, or spirit of China. Borrowing on elements of several artistic disciplines from China's 5,000 year old civilization, Jing Hua is a fusion of past and present, east and west; they are classically balanced and proportioned, with a firm nod toward the contemporary.
